Icey vs Aspire for Snow Removal: A Snow Tool or a Landscape Business Suite?

8 min read · Updated 2026-10-28

Aspire is the better pick for a large landscaping company that runs maintenance, construction and snow in one system, with job costing, purchasing and a subcontractor portal. Icey is the better pick for a snow and ice company that wants to start free, sign up without a demo, and see its price before it talks to anyone.

We make Icey Software, so read this with that in mind. Aspire, part of the ServiceTitan family, describes itself as a platform “designed for enterprise-level landscape businesses”, and snow and ice is one of the industries it serves. Every Aspire fact below is from Aspire’s own website, checked on October 27, 2026. Plans change, so confirm with Aspire before you decide.

Quick answer

  • Pick Aspire if you are a large landscape company with snow as one of your services, and you want estimating, scheduling, job costing, purchasing and invoicing for every season in one system, with implementation and a customer success manager included.
  • Pick Icey if snow and ice is the business. Free forever up to 10 sites and 5 crew. Every feature. You sign up yourself, with no demo call, and quote per-event rate cards with de-icing as its own visit, with the salt included in the price or listed separately.
  • Price: Aspire doesn’t publish prices; it quotes by company size and complexity. Icey is free for up to 10 sites and 5 crew; above that, paid plans are priced by sites, from $119 CAD a month for 11–35 sites, with every driver included.

Where Aspire is stronger

  • Every season in one system. Aspire runs landscape maintenance, construction and snow from one platform, so the same clients, crews and job costs carry through the year. Icey is for snow and ice only.
  • Job costing and purchasing. Aspire compares actual job costs with your estimates as the work happens, and includes purchasing, inventory and equipment tools. Icey has no job-costing tools.
  • Winter subcontractors. Aspire’s subcontractor portal carries schedules, work tickets and quantities for each visit. Icey has no subcontractor tools for new accounts.
  • Android and offline. Aspire Mobile works on Apple and Android phones and offline. Icey’s Android app is still in testing, so Android crews use Icey in the phone’s browser.
  • Customers and payments. Aspire texts customers the day before a visit, tells them by text or email when a job is done, and lets them pay by card or ACH through its customer portal. In Icey you email each site report with a tap, or switch on a once-a-day email, and mark an invoice paid by hand.
  • Accounting and support. Aspire integrates with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online and Acumatica, and its fee includes implementation, training and a dedicated customer success manager. Icey exports a CSV file in the format QuickBooks imports.

Where Icey is stronger, or simply different

  • A price you can see, and a free plan. Free forever up to 10 sites and 5 crew. Every feature. Paid plans are on the pricing page. Aspire quotes each company after a demo and lists no free plan.
  • Start today, by yourself. Sign up, add your sites and run the next storm. There is no demo or implementation project to schedule first.
  • No contract. Icey’s paid plans are monthly, so you can drop back to Free for the summer and nothing is deleted. Aspire is sold on a contract.
  • De-icing priced as its own visit. Per-event rate cards price plowing and de-icing as separate visits, with the salt included in the price or listed separately. Accepting the quote makes the site active for the season.
  • Built around storms. A storm board dispatches the whole storm, and the crew app records GPS, times, photos at every site and the salt and de-icer put down, with a site report for every completed visit. See proof of service and salt tracking.
  • Weather on every plan. The Weather Center shows the forecast for your service area, with a “Notify me” alert you can switch on for when it crosses your snowfall trigger.
  • The currency on the price. Prices are in CAD; companies in the United States pay USD prices. Aspire’s site names no price, and so no currency.

We have not run a storm on Aspire, so we can’t tell you how Aspire Mobile feels in a storm or what Aspire would quote you. If Aspire’s approach appeals but your company is smaller than its plans are named for, ask Aspire about Crew Control, which it describes as “lightweight business management tools for small to medium businesses”. We haven’t compared Crew Control here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Aspire cost?

Aspire doesn’t publish prices. As of October 27, 2026, its plans page says pricing “varies based on company size, complexity, and what solution best fits your business”, billed as one monthly licence fee with no limit on users, under a contract. You book a demo to get a quote.

Does Aspire have a free plan or a free trial?

None is listed on its site, checked October 27, 2026; you start by booking a demo. Icey’s Free plan is free forever for up to 10 sites and 5 crew, with every feature.

Is Aspire good for snow removal?

For a larger landscape company that does snow, yes: Aspire builds snow plans from aerial imagery, marks snow pile storage on site maps, schedules crews and subcontractors, logs hours and materials to work tickets, and compares job costs with estimates. For a snow-only company it may be more system than you need.

Can a small snow company use Aspire?

Aspire’s snow page names its plans by annual revenue, starting with Aspire Growth for companies generating $1 to $5 million. Ask Aspire about a smaller company; its family also includes Crew Control, which it describes as lightweight business management tools for small to medium businesses.

Which one works on Android?

Aspire says Aspire Mobile works on Apple and Android phones and offline. Icey has an iPhone app on the App Store; its Android app is still in testing, so Android crews sign in at iceysoftware.com and use Field Mode in the phone’s browser.

Does Icey connect to QuickBooks like Aspire?

Not directly. Icey exports invoices as a CSV file in the format QuickBooks imports, and you import it yourself. Aspire lists integrations with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online and Acumatica.
