Icey did not start as a software company. It started as a snow contractor who got tired of quoting at midnight and tracking salt on paper that would never survive a dispute.
The short version
Northshore Snow is a working snow and ice company. Like most contractors, it ran on a stack of spreadsheets, group texts, and a notebook of salt applications — right up until the nights that stack fell apart. Quotes got written after the last driveway was done, around midnight. Service records lived in someone's memory until a client asked for proof. Salt logs were scribbled on paper that no insurer would ever accept.
So we built the tool we wished existed: dispatch, live GPS, salt and de-icing logs, quoting, and e-sign contracts in one place, shaped around how a storm actually runs. It was never a side project to sell — it was how we kept our own routes from turning into chaos.
Icey still runs Northshore Snow's routes every storm. Every feature exists because a real crew needed it on a bad night — not because it demos well. When something is missing, we feel it in the truck before you do.
This season we opened it up for other contractors. The salt and de-icing documentation is the part the big platforms skip and the part commercial clients and insurers keep asking for — so that is where we go deepest.
