Jobber Alternatives for Snow Removal Companies (2026)

11 min read · Updated 2026-10-28

The strongest Jobber alternatives for a snow removal company are the tools made first for snow and ice work — Icey Software, Yeti, Plowdesk, CrewTracker and Aurora Suite — and the broader platforms with real snow features, Service Autopilot, LMN and Aspire. For one person doing snow alongside other trades, CrewNest is a low-cost option.

Full disclosure: we make Icey Software, one of the tools on this list. Jobber itself is a strong choice when snow is one service among many — our Icey vs Jobber comparison covers that — so this list is for companies where snow is the work that matters most.

Every fact about another tool below is from that vendor’s own website, checked on October 27, 2026, and the Sources section links each page. Prices change, so confirm on the vendor’s site before you buy. Where a vendor names its currency we show it; where it doesn’t, we show the number as listed.

Quick answer

  • Snow only, small crew, start free: Icey (free forever for up to 10 sites and 5 crew, every feature) or Plowdesk (free for unlimited users on up to three storm routes).
  • Lots of subcontractors: Yeti.
  • Customers who want to watch the crew live: Aurora Suite.
  • Lawn care or landscaping all year, with automations: Service Autopilot.
  • A landscape company that plows in winter and estimates by budget: LMN.
  • A large landscape and commercial company: Aspire.
  • An established snow operation that wants setup and training done with it: CrewTracker.
  • One person doing several trades, snow among them: CrewNest.
  • Snow is one service among many and Jobber already runs the rest: stay on Jobber.

What Jobber offers snow companies (as of October 2026)

Jobber is broad field-service software for dozens of trades, and it has a snow removal page. That page describes mapping out visits and building the fastest route at the start of each snow event, quotes with add-on de-icing or monthly snow packages, automatic card charges for monthly contracts, an online portal where customers approve quotes and pay, and apps for iPhone and Android.

On Jobber’s pricing page, Core, for one user, is $29 USD a month billed annually or $49 USD a month with no commitment (the page was also running a limited-time introductory discount). Extra users are $29 USD a month each. Route optimization, automatic payments and syncing with QuickBooks Online start on the Connect plan, and optional add-on quote lines on Grow. A 14-day free trial gives full access to the Grow plan with no credit card. Jobber lists no free plan.

Why snow companies look at alternatives

  • Price by user. Jobber’s plans are sized by users, so a bigger crew raises the bill. Several tools below don’t charge per user.
  • No free plan. Jobber has a free trial. Icey, Plowdesk and CrewNest have free plans.
  • Storm-shaped work. Jobber’s snow page describes routing visits for each snow event; it doesn’t describe a storm dispatch board or a salt log for each visit. The snow-first tools below are built around storm work.

Icey Software (ours) — best free start for snow and ice contractors

Icey is snow and ice management software from North Vancouver, BC. Quotes are per-event rate cards, where plowing and de-icing are priced as separate visits, or seasonal contracts paid in monthly instalments, with the salt included in the price or listed separately, and the client signs on their phone. Storms run from a storm board with routes optimized for traffic and priority sites first. Crews use Field Mode, which records GPS, one-tap job timers, photos at every site and per-site material logs, and keeps recording with no signal. Every completed visit makes a site report, and the Weather Center has a “Notify me” alert you can switch on for when the forecast crosses your snowfall trigger.

Free forever up to 10 sites and 5 crew. Every feature. Paid plans are priced by sites, from $119 CAD a month for 11–35 sites, with every driver included. Prices are in CAD; companies in the United States pay USD prices. You sign up yourself, with no credit card and no demo call.

Where Icey is weaker, honestly. It is a younger product — self-serve since July 2026 — with fewer reviews than older tools. Accounting is a CSV export in the format QuickBooks imports, with no direct sync; payments are recorded by hand; the Android app is still in testing, so Android crews use the web app; and it is for snow and ice work only. See pricing and what Icey Software is.

Yeti — best for subcontractors

Yeti, from Langley, BC, is built for snow removal companies. It has one plan priced by sites: from $66.50 USD a month on an annual plan ($798 USD a year) for 1–25 sites, with unlimited users and clients; paying annually saves 30%. Its pricing page lists tools for managing subcontractors, an integration with QuickBooks Online, weather reporting as an add-on and a 60-day money-back guarantee. Its homepage describes GPS, photos and timestamps on every visit, controlled access to work orders for subcontractors, and an app in English, French and Spanish. It lists no free plan.

Both Yeti and Icey’s paid plans are priced by sites, not drivers. See Icey vs Yeti.

Plowdesk — best free plan for a bigger crew

Plowdesk, from New Hampshire, is built for snow contractors. Its free Operator plan has unlimited users and customers with up to three storm routes, site photos and service logging, and quotes and invoices. Contractor, $95 a month (no currency named on its site), adds unlimited storm routes (“for contractors servicing residential customers”), automated customer notifications, a customer portal and payment integrations. If you have more drivers than routes, its free plan goes further than Icey’s. See Icey vs Plowdesk.

Service Autopilot — best for automations and year-round work

Service Autopilot sells to lawn care, landscaping, cleaning, pest control, pool and snow removal companies. Startup is $49 a month, Pro $199 and Pro Plus $499, each plus a sign-up fee, at annual subscription rates; Elite is priced on request. Snow Dispatch and route optimization start on Pro, and its automations (estimate follow-ups, invoice and past-due reminders, texts and email campaigns) on Pro Plus. Its snow page lists flat rate, per push, per event, per inch and hourly billing, pre-built master routes, and a two-way QuickBooks sync. Payments are built into every plan.

It is the stronger pick for a company that runs recurring work all year. See Icey vs Service Autopilot.

CrewTracker — best for guided setup

CrewTracker sells to snow and ice, landscaping and custodial businesses. Pricing is tiered by number of properties, with Tier 1 from $250 a month (no currency named), and the subscription includes installation, white-glove startup services, team training and a QuickBooks connection. Its page also names a one-time purchase fee and annual maintenance without giving their amounts, so ask for the first-year total. See Icey vs CrewTracker.

Aurora Suite — best for customers who want to watch the crew

Aurora Suite’s strength is what your customers see: a live portal with ETAs, service status and proof photos, backed by GPS updates every half second. Billing runs through Stripe for seasonal, per-visit and hourly work, and its operator app is on the App Store and Google Play. Pricing isn’t published — a base monthly fee with unlimited admin users, plus a price for each active operator — and you start by booking a demo. It offers a 60-day performance guarantee. See Icey vs Aurora Suite.

LMN — best for landscape companies that also plow

LMN, part of Granum, is landscaping software first, with a Snow & Ice offering that says it tracks plow passes, salt applications and proof of service, builds seasonal and per-event pricing from your time, salt and machine costs, and has a crew app with offline and bilingual modes. Starter is $297 USD a month billed monthly, with 1 office or crew-lead licence and 5 crew licences; Professional is $648 USD a month; Enterprise pricing comes from sales. You start by booking a demo. A snow-only contractor may pay for landscaping tools they won’t use.

Aspire — best for large landscape and commercial companies

Aspire describes itself as built for enterprise-level landscape businesses. Pricing isn’t published: it varies with company size and complexity, as a single licence fee billed monthly with no limit on users, under a contract. Its snow page lists a subcontractor portal, takeoffs with its PropertyIntel tool, snow pile storage maps, and crews recording hours and materials to each work ticket. It is aimed at larger companies.

CrewNest — best low-cost start for one person doing several trades

CrewNest, from Oakville, Ontario, covers pressure washing, lawn care and snow removal. Its free plan is one user with up to three estimates a month and unlimited customers and jobs; Pro is $29.99 USD a month or $290 a year, with unlimited team members, and its 14-day Pro trial asks for a card. It isn’t snow-specific.

How to choose

  1. Decide how much of the business is snow. Snow-first points to Icey, Yeti, Plowdesk, CrewTracker or Aurora Suite; several trades point to Service Autopilot, LMN, Aspire or CrewNest — or to staying on Jobber.
  2. Work out what your whole crew would cost. Jobber charges by user, Service Autopilot includes a set number of app licences per plan, LMN sells licences and Aurora Suite charges for each active operator. Yeti and Plowdesk include unlimited users, Aspire has no user limit, CrewNest Pro has unlimited team members, and Icey’s paid plans include every driver (its Free plan covers up to 10 sites and 5 crew).
  3. Decide how you want to buy. Icey, Plowdesk, CrewNest and Jobber let you start yourself; Aspire, Aurora Suite and LMN start with a demo, and Service Autopilot offers a demo on every plan and a free-trial button.
  4. If commercial clients or insurers ask for records, look closely at proof of service and salt logs — and ask each vendor to show you a real storm’s records, not a demo account.
  5. Shortlist two and run a real storm on each. Several have free plans or trials, so it costs little to find out.
